April 22-30th Chicken Lapbooks

The last 10 days we have been taking an aspect of chickens and learning about them culminating in these lapbooks.

 Chicken vocabulary, anatomy, function of wattle and combs, how a chick is born and develops, farming chickens - comparison between battery hens and free range hens, and references to chickens in the bible, predators of hens, etc.....

 We used Chicks and Chickens for information and the internet.  We red The Little Red Hen and did some literacy work on the story. Recognising the key character, plot, beginning, middle and end.
