13th May -

Today we went to Marwell Zoo with some of the families in our Home Ed Group.  The focus was on rainforest. We specifically looked for animals that live in the rainforest, and then went round the indoor plant area looking for plants and smaller rainforest creatures.

(I knew I would forget what these animals are called!











A vanilla pod in the making.   We saw ginger, papaya trees, poison dart frogs, mini alligator typed creature and so much more.  We completed a number of worksheets. Then attended a Rainforest Workshop.

It's not letting me upload photos from the workshop. Will try later.  James and Gracie stroked a black python snake, and Gracie stroked a hissing cockroach, as well as learning all about the different layers of the rainforest and how we can help sustain the rainforest.  A great workshop.  Followed by lots more walking, playing in the park, eating icecream etc....
And after all this James went and played tennis and Gracie went to Rainbows.  phew.
