We had the blessing of joining a Home Ed Visit to Rushall Organic Farm near Newbury. A member of staff gave us a tour of the farm.
We looked at Livestock - sheep, cows, donkeys, goats, pigs, chickens and turkeys.
Crops - wheat fields, barley and corn.
Machinary - combine harvester, tractors and other machines.
Lambing.
James, Gracie and Evie all stroked and fed the turkeys and the cockerel.
Evie's favourite animal - the humble cow and her calf.
Really couldn't understand why my children would want to stroke her scaly hairy skin, but they did nonetheless.
We were priviledged enough to watch a lamb being born, all yellow and lifeless, then licked to life by it's mum. So sweet.
Even more blessings as we each got to hold a little newish born lamb.

It was such a fabulous finale to our farming topic. During the day most aspects of farming were touched on in some way. It was wonderful.
