The goal of ancient Hebrew education was for 'the training of the individual in the service of God'. This is our ultimate aim and motivation. Quite a task!

Monday 28th Jan - Fire

We discussed fire - what do we know about fire?
Brainstormed some adjectives about fire.

We then did the following science experiment to look at fire needing oxygen to burn.

We lit the candles and timed how long it took for the candle in the jar to go out.  They could see that the candle used up all the oxygen in the jar and then went out.

We tried different size jars.











 This time we put the candle in a bowl of coloured water and put the jar on top. We watched the jar suck in all the water as it used up all the oxygen. So they could see that oxygen takes up space in the air.
